Thank you all for making the 50th anniversary for LUFFE YACHTS and the first LUFFE CUP a huge success. The weather was cooperating, and the entire experience exceeded our hopes and wishes.
The event kicked off at Koldinghus with refreshments, speeches from the mayor of Kolding and the heads of Kolding Sejlklub and Luffeklubben. Quite fittingly we also had access to the beautiful and quite personal exhibit about life on board the Royal Danish yacht, Dannebrog, shown in the four-storey Ruin Hall.
We had three fantastic days sailing and celebrating in Kolding. The final attendance was over and above projection, reaching 62 Luffe Yachts. Kolding Sejlklub had managed to clear bridge H for the event, where everyone just fit, making it quite the social scene and easy for the extended Luffe family to connect from cockpit to cockpit.
Lillebaelt and Kolding fjord has scenic and exciting water passages
with strong currents and surprising grounds. Adding weather conditions that gave us both still and strong wind challenges, made the racing conditions exciting and entertaining.
Due to the large attendance all social gatherings were moved from the Club House to a tent taking up a sizable part of the harbor parking. A large group of volunteers made sure we were fed and did a great job organizing the Friday BBQ and the Celebratory Saturday Party with 235 Luffe sailors in attendance. Wow!!
Once again, we would like to thank you all for showing up, being passionate sailors and wonderful people. Our engaged customers, supportive suppliers, all the helpful volunteers, Kolding Sejlklub and Luffeklubbens collective efforts made the 50th Anniversary Cup an event that will be remembered.
